The Denbigh Alliance was delighted to welcome Mayoress Mandy Legg to officially celebrate the opening of Watling Primary School on Friday 20th October. Chloe D’Souza, Youth Mayor was also present. The Mayoress noted the sustainable and environmentally friendly measures incorporated into the new building and how important having a STEM focus in education, even in younger years, was in providing the next generation of a skilled workforce across the city. Vikki Pegg, Headteacher showed guests a presentation with images of the building process and children enjoying various activities.
CEO, Sue Collings said, ‘Watling Primary School is the culmination of a great deal of collaboration and hard work by the Denbigh Alliance team and the Local Authority to create a place where dreams take root and futures are built’.
The Denbigh Alliance was also delighted that Mac Heath, Director of MK Children’s Services, Marie Denny, Head of Education Sufficiency and Access and Dominic Williams, Strategic Lead – Education were able to attend the celebrations to see the completed school and meet parents, staff and children.
