U18 Boys are County Football Champions

Huge congratulations to our U18 Boys Football Team who won the Buckinghamshire Schools Plate Final beating Waddesdon School, 3-1 at Arbour Park, home of Slough Town FC. The team performed superbly against strong opponents who they had lost to narrowly earlier in the season. Team captain, Joel Marklove was presented with the Plate by Buckinghamshire Schools Football Association Secretary Richard Gledhill. Rashid Joachim, who scored two of the goals on the day, was awarded ‘Player of The Match’ by the match officials.

Our U18 Team is made up of members of our successful Football Academy as well as other Year 12 and 13 students. Being crowned county champions is a tremendous achievement which tops off a fantastic season and demonstrates the talent we have in our Academy.

Malcom Lay, Denbigh’s Football Academy Director said: ‘Every one of my players was a credit to themselves, their families, and our school. They performed superbly under the pressure of competing in a county final and their conduct was exemplary. They have displayed a real togetherness as a team all season, and I am so pleased that their effort, talent, and commitment has been rewarded and they can now call themselves county champions.’
